Welcome to OIRA

The University of Tennessee Office of Institutional Research and Assessment (OIRA) collects, analyzes, and disseminates essential information about the University's environment and performance. This information supports institutional management, planning, and decision making as well as meets a variety of state and federal government mandates. In addition, OIRA oversees teaching evaluation through the Student Assessment and Instruction System, and coordinates the assessment function of the University.

The office strives to provide information in an accurate and timely manner and in a useful and understandable format. This mission is accomplished by a skilled staff that utilizes all major data sources available at the University to report information to both internal and external constituencies. Using a variety of statistical tools, analytical skills, and graphic presentations, reports are provided on both a recurring and ad hoc basis.
